Course overview
The aim of this course is to introduce you to the various themes, perspectives and methodologies of sociology. It explores how we learn a large proportion of our behaviour, and examines the way we interact within groups and societies. It provides an understanding of the major areas of sociological interest, giving you an extremely sound foundation on which to build more detailed knowledge.

You do not need to have any additional qualifications before studying this course.
Level
On successful completion of this course you will have studied new skills and gained knowledge purely for your own enjoyment and development. This may also act as a ‘taster’ for the student who wishes to go on to more advanced courses.
Certification
On successful completion students will receive the following award: The BSY Certificate of Competence in Sociology.

Having progressed through each lesson you can take your final examination at home, and at a date and time that suits you. Then, on successful completion you will be awarded your BSY certificate.
