Fitness is a booming industry. This course looks at good practice in fitness instructing by working to a common standard which is nationally recognised, and aims to enhance the status of employees within the fitness industry.
You will learn the skills and knowledge necessary to plan, deliver and evaluate safe and effective fitness instruction sessions in the gym. You can earn money from your enjoyment of health and fitness, and meet and work with interesting people.

To gain the NCFE Level 2 qualification, you will need to successfully complete a portfolio of work and upload recorded practical training sessions (via our unique online platform) of your planning and instructing a client, and demonstrating the required competences to organise fitness instructing programmes. A qualified person will need to be present during the training session.
You do not need to have any additional qualifications before studying this course.
Learners should be aged 16 or above to undertake this qualification.
You will also need to be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.

The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing is a regulated qualification. This means it is a nationally recognised qualification, regulated by Ofqual in England.
This qualification is mapped to the CIMSPA (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity) Gym Instructor Professional Standard and is mandated in the Leisure Team Member Apprenticeship Standard.
