NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing Course

Fitness is a booming industry. This course looks at good practice in fitness instructing by working to a common standard which is nationally recognised, and aims to enhance the status of employees within the fitness industry.

You will learn the skills and knowledge necessary to plan, deliver and evaluate safe and effective fitness instruction sessions in the gym. You can earn money from your enjoyment of health and fitness, and meet and work with interesting people.

The course is ideal if you are seeking:

• employment in the sector
• access to CIMSPA
• to develop skills and knowledge in the sector

To gain the NCFE Level 2 qualification, you will need to successfully complete a portfolio of work and upload recorded practical training sessions (via our unique online platform) of your planning and instructing a client, and demonstrating the required competences to organise fitness instructing programmes. A qualified person will need to be present during the training session.

You do not need to have any additional qualifications before studying this course.
Learners should be aged 16 or above to undertake this qualification.
You will also need to be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.

On successful completion of this course you will:

• achieve the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing*
• be able to join CIMSPA

The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing is a regulated qualification. This means it is a nationally recognised qualification, regulated by Ofqual in England.

This qualification is mapped to the CIMSPA (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity) Gym Instructor Professional Standard and is mandated in the Leisure Team Member Apprenticeship Standard.

Upon enrolment you receive your first course units via our unique online learning platform.

You can study in your own time, at your own pace and from the comfort of your own home. You will be able to progress through your course whenever and wherever you wish – all you need is access to the internet, and a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone.

At the end of each unit there will be an assignment, which is submitted to your tutor for feedback. To achieve the qualification, you will need to successfully complete all units in the course.
