Throughout this course you will gain an increased understanding of the principles of healthy eating and the role of food in maintaining health, increased confidence in planning and achieving a healthy diet, and understand how an individual’s dietary requirements change throughout their life. You will also learn about food labelling and how to use information from food labels; eating disorders; the role of a healthy diet for weight management and the principles of food safety in a home environment.

Learners should be at least 16 to undertake this qualification.
On successful completion of this course you will achieve the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Nutrition and Health qualification.
The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Nutrition and Health is a regulated qualification. This means it is a nationally recognised qualification, regulated by Ofqual in England.
This qualification is designed for a wide range of learners with some existing knowledge of this area who are interested in improving their understanding of nutrition and health. It aims to give learners working in, or intending to work in, settings such as sport and recreation, exercise and fitness, hospitality and catering or healthcare an understanding of nutrition and health, to support their role in the workplace.
This course has a credit value of 15 total credits.
